Hay River National Addiction Awareness Week 2013
We have spent the last two days in Hay River. Thanks to the Hay River Community Justice Committee for bringing us up to their community. There is a lot of dedication there to try and improve people's’ understanding of drug and alcohol problems.
It is always what we don’t know that hurts us.
This is the 3rd year that I have been up here and it was very good to see the people that I have met in the past.
I knew Sadie and Georgia were getting tired, when we were heading for the Yellowknife airport yesterday morning Sadie said “ boy, those stars are really big!!” --- Sorry Sadie those are street lights……. When we got you Hay River and were heading for the hotel Georgia said “ Is that red light another plane landing? ------ Sorry Georgia, we are moving the red light is standing still, it is a runway marker…
We will be home tomorrow.
I was talking this morning about amygdala function (picture above) a young man said “So metaphorically we are really not as bright if we use drugs?”
