End of semester is coming up and many students are starting or in the middle of end of semester panic, thinking "how can I pull this out of the fire?"
One of the best indicators of substance abuse with high school kids is how they are doing in school. If they are doing well and attendance has been good then there is less likelihood that they are having drug or alcohol problems, the opposite is also generally true.
If you are one of those kids who is running around trying to pull your grades from the fire then this is the perfect opportunity to take a break from drug and alcohol use. Take the next couple of weeks as an opportunity to give your brain a break from the beating you have been giving it, it may clear things up so that you can focus a bit better on getting some undone work handed in and perhaps absorb enough to pass a class or two.
The bigger benefit is that you might actually like life a bit better too!!
