Anyone who has been paying any attention to the work we are doing is aware that we spend a lot on time talking about and helping people understand that drug and alcohol problems are brain problems.
Understanding that can cut through the shame, blame and self-recrimination that always seems to accompany substance abuse or addiction. I need to, again, thank Dr. Daniel Amen for all the great work he has done in this field, his images are incredibly beneficial in helping people understand the true nature of their problem.
My group of young men today was very interesting and very willing to learn some new stuff about what was going on with them. Whether you live in the Arctic, as they do, or are from the south, which is everywhere else, people are people and we all have the same needs and the same fears.
I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to do some work up here.
